Two postponed runs

Sometimes life gets in the way and you have to adjust your runs/exercise around your life. The beginning of this week has been like that.

On Monday, I was supposed to run. But I put it off. Instead went to Target, then Wal-Mart trying to find the damn Jillian Michael 30 Day Shred. Alas, both stores did not have it. Target had other The Biggest Loser DVDs but not that one. Seems everyone on the blogs I follow have been using this DVD so I decided to buy into the hysteria. I ended up getting it from Walmart online and have it shipped to the store. Which means I won't get it until April. I'm getting a little pudgy & soft around the middle so that's why I decided to get this but from what I heard it mainly works the arms and thighs. I hope there's something about the core in this workout DVD.

After those trips, I went to Farm & Fleet to get an estimate to my car. What was supposed to be a 45-1 hour wait, ended up being a 2 hour wait. This was mainly my fault for not being a bitch and keeping on them and harrassing them about my car. I got home at 8p and soon it was shower time and then bed time.

Today, it spit rain off and on. So instead of running, I again went to another car place to get the same estimate done. Luckily, I was able to get it fixed with nary a wait! Tomorrow will be getting a tire fixed at this same place (under warranty) and then maybe a NITRO 5k/10k Race Planning Meeting at 7pm. I'm hoping to get a 2 mile or 3 mile run in after the tire and before the meeting. Of course then I would run again on Thursday and then a day of rest (with pizza!) before a 20 mile on Saturday!

I'm not too worried about this 20 mile run. I know I did 18 last Saturday. If I do another 18 and that's it, that's fine with me. That's all I did last fall when I was training for my first and I still managed to finish my marathon. So far my toe tendon/ball of foot has been doing OK. No pain during the run to make me stop. I've had to walk carefully afterwards and make sure I stretch the toes, every little bit. I've also gotten to massage my toe a little bit. Not sure how much that has helped. But I think it's the new shoes & the new stride. I'm running on the inside of my foot more; pushing off with my big toe instead of in the middle of my foot.

Now I need to find someone to call in case something happens. My Mom actually thought about following me to make sure I was alright. Isn't that sweet? I told her that I have a Road ID (which I actually need to have updated numbers on it), my cell phone and had a pepper spray (which I forgot at home). All that is fine & dandy but what if I only sprain my ankle? I can't call 911 with that. Oh well, this is the last big run I'll do for a while.
