So I have narrowed down my races for the spring/early summer.
Unfortunately, I made a mistake in my previous post. I had made mention that Tour of the Mississippi River Valley was Jun 5-6 and the Skirt Chaser 5k was the following weekend on Jun 13. Well, the Skirt Chaser date was right. However, the TOMRV is also the same weekend. After I registered for the Skirt Chaser, I went to put it in my Google Calendar and that's when I noticed the mistake. DAMNIT! This will be my first DNS I think. Erin and I had emailed about it and decided to run it together. Even her husband may get in on the act. I was so worried about letting her down but she said that it's OK. I promised to make it up to her somehow (maybe running a marathon with her next year!) I had promised to ride TOMRV with someone and signed up for it first. It'll be my first big bike ride on my new road bike. The good news is that I do get a skirt out of it (Erin will have to pick up my packet for me though) just no running or time or post-race party. :-(
Also, in conflict is the Great Western Half Marathon scheduled on May 3rd. Again, I had planned on running it but I forgot that I was heading down to Hilton Head, SC that very day so I will have to miss that race.
The Turtle Trok 5k, a great little race in Oregon, IL has been cancelled this year. The past two years I ran it (also the only two years they have had it) and I came in first in my age group the first year and second last year. It was great! Also, last year I attended the lunch they had afterwards and it was totally worth it. What's great about this race is that it's mostly trail. One of the few that you can find here in northern Illinois. Up hills, through trees, along slopes, through wild prairie. Great fun times. I called them up today asking about it since they had no way of registering for it but alas, they cancelled the whole weekend all together. Very sad.
As of now, I am booked every weekend (except for one) until Memorial Day. (I haven't decided if I'm going to run the Madison Marathon/Half Marathon that weekend -- depends on how St. Louis Marathon goes.)
Apr 4-5 Run with Erin in Chicago
Apr 11-12 Easter weekend, go down to Southern Illinois
Apr 18-19 St. Louis 5k/Marathon weekend
Apr 25-26 Available both days; concert on Sat night in DeKalb
May 3-4 Driving to southern Illinois and then Hilton Head
May 10-11 Mother's Day; driving from Hilton Head to southern Illinois then back to northern Illinois
May 16-17 Sunrise Rotary 8k on Sat; available on Sun
May 23-24 Memorial Day weekend; I hope to camp or do something/go somewhere for that -- if not then maybe I'll run Madison
May 30-31 NITRO 5k/10k
Jun 6-7 Nothing all weekend
Jun 13-14 Tour of the Mississippi River Valley (bike)
Jun 20-21 I have off on that Friday (campus closed) so I may go somewhere otherwise I have Unlimited Performance 5k
That's how far out I've gotten.

Lindsay, at Disney, almost all of the characters had a park employee with them to take your picture; there were only a few who didn't.
