It's springtime (almost)!

I ran in shorts for the first time this year! YAY! Tomorrow I'm going to (finally) take my new road bike out for a spin! YAY AGAIN!

So in honour of the unofficial start of the racing season (though last year I had already ran 2 races by this time!), I am going to post my list of races that I could potentially run this year.

Go! St. Louis 5k - April 18
Go! St. Louis Marathon - April 19
Turtle Trot 5k (trail) - April 26
Great Western Half - May 3
Sunrise Rotary 8K - May 15
NITRO 10k - May 30
Tour of the Mississippi River Valley (bike) - Jun 5-6
Skirt Chaser 5k - June 13
Unlimited Performance 5k - June 20
RAGBRAI (bike) - July 19-25
Corn Fest 10k - August 22
On The Waterfront 5k - September 5

And as you can tell by the BiM info below, my run today was quite fast. I meant to have it be a "recovery" run and take it nice and slow but it didn't turn out that way. Thighs were sore before the run, that's why I didn't want to run but tonight they're feeling good.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

My "easy" 2 miler also turned into a fast run last night. Oops.

Also, I've been meaning to email you. I want to do the Skirtchaser 5K, too! We can do it together!

Lindsay,

Thanks for your list of potential runs, looks like there are some gems on there. Soo many to chose from. Glad to see you're running strong too, looks like your heart rate was on a nice gradual rise for that 2.2m run.. something that will definitely pay dividends in the Long Run. ttfn

Um, did I read that right? A 5K followed by the marathon the next day???? You must be ramping up to be an ultramarathoner. I'll keep that in mind when we need entrants for the Kind of an UltraMarathon this fall.

Erin - YES! We will have to do this! Too bad Jason's not a runner; he could be chasing you! :-) But he could still cheer us on. They had a party afterwards with free beer.

John - The Skirt Chaser is the most fun out of the list.

Yes you did read it right, a 5k the day before the marathon. It's just gonna be an easy 3 miles, nothing fast or anything. I want that medal too! :-)

And I'm thinking of going for a triathlon before hitting up the Ultramarathon series!
