So my friend Rob used to joke with his friend Chris, "I'm texting your Mom!" For whatever reason this was an inside joke to them. But it's funny cause just today, I texted Josh's mom!
I invited her to my race on Sunday. It's going to take place in Oregon at 10am (Thank God!) and thought she might like to come down for it. She wanted to know what time and how long. I explained to her what I run in and that I'm going to stay for the awards ceremony afterwards (they actually award the top 3 placers in each age group!) that should take place 90 minutes after the start of the race. She didn't know if she'll be in Pennsylvania or not but she'll let me know.
So finally, I might have a real person that knows and cares for me cheering at the end of the race instead of just other people cheering for me just cause they cheer for whoever is finishing. But I must remember, not to get my hopes up too high otherwise, I'll feel like Saturday morning all over again.
Time to get my bike on! BTW, my Vastus lateralis (the outside Quadricep (thigh)) muscle is becoming built! Albeit, not that much yet and maybe I'm just pretending to notice it but I'm liking what I'm seeing. Rob, aren't you so proud of me? I used big science-y words!
