I can't believe that it's been nearly a week since I last blogged.
My running and my blogging has taken a serious dive this season.
I didn't do any running this weekend. But I did manage to go on a 30 mile bike ride, in the middle of the day, in 94 degree weather in humid conditions with my friend Kevin. That was interesting! About 10 miles into it, I took off my jersey and only had on my bikini top. Needless to say, my back is burnt crispy. Pretty red!! But we were biking to a beach so I immediately was able to jump in to the river, that felt REALLY nice. We met his wife in the parking lot (she drove up) and I pretty much chugged a Miller Lite when I saw her. That was awesome. I also wore my heart rate monitor and it was interesting to see my heart rate going up while I was biking up a hill! Went from 151 at the bottom of a hill to 179 at the top! But because of it, I have a nice thick white line on my back from it as well!
I wanted to run Sunday morning but alas, woke up at 7am and it was already 79 degrees with a feel of 82 so I decided to screw it and decide that the biking was enough. It was 2 hours on the bike! Pretty damn good!
I skipped my run this morning cause it hurts to even wear a t-shirt on my back. But I decided to suck it up and run at lunch at the gym at my work. I get dressed in the locker room, walk out to the entrance and there's a sign posted that it's closed this week. SON OF A ... Sure! The One day that I decide to go, it's closed. My luck. So anyway, it did hurt putting on my sports bra, so not sure what I'm going to do with the rest of the week. I do need to run a few miles this week before my long run on Saturday.
I have a 16 mile run coming up on Saturday. Yea, that'll be interesting. But the good news is that I'm no longer coughing! The cough is completely gone!! YAY!!! That _should_ make the 16 miles easy. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Ouch! I hate those sunburns! I hope it feels better soon. It must have been so awesome getting into the water after that ride. That is how I felt when I did my last long run along the river. I just wanted to jump in...
Good luck on the 16-miler! I am happy your cough went away! :)
Didn't RW just have an article about how runners who bike don't lose any fitness or are actually better runners because of it?? I think your bike ride totally counts.
