This morning, I ran 4 miles at an elevation of (a minimum) 2,134 ft. With 5 hills up and down. And I'm talking mountain hills; NOT Illinois hills.
In comparison, DeKalb, IL is at an elevation of 880 ft.
I'm rather impressed. Though my legs are killing me now. After running, we walked around Asheville which has hills as well. So I'm sore. Needless to say, I'm driving someplace next time I want to run. I just hope to find a semi-flat range in this mountainous region. I can't wait for some real "mountain biking!"
