I saw on someone else's blog how they keep track of their calorie intake. I think I want to start doing that. I read a website to make sure that my daily caloric intake averages between 9 and 11 times my body weight (so between 1242 and 1518 or so).

Sunrise Rotary 8k

I really should not go on a Mtn Bike ride days before planning on wearing a skirt. I stopped at this ravine that crossed over a creek. I paused there, took a break, deciding if I should continue. I saw this family cross and then a biker went down and back up opposite of the way I was going. I figured that since he was able to do it, I should too. So I backed up so I could get speed to go down and back up. Bad idea. I kept my left foot down and my right leg up so my left food got totally soaked and then as I was trying to peddle back up, my shoe slipped off my and I nearly fell on my left which would have been into bushes. I scraped my thigh and calf a bit. I only biked some 6 odd miles but some of those hills were awesome and got my heart beating! Also found a small place that Brent & I will be able to do a picnic!

Whoever said that it's better to go into a race undertrained than overtrained should be shot. For the Sunrise Rotary 8k: My legs were dead by the 4th mile. I ran 4 minutes slower than the race last year. But then again, the wind gusts were insane and coming from west to east so the first part was going north. Yuck. The second part was going east so that was pretty nice. Then back south, yuck. My hair is NOT aerodynamic at all. It kept going over my shoulder when I wanted it to stay behind my back. Good thing I'm getting it cut soon. I walked in this race. I've never done that before. I walked through the first water station. And then walked after the second station before the third. I felt horrible but I had to. Then once I reached the 4th mile, I vowed not to walk the last .97 miles but man was that ever hard to do. I came in at 47:33. Last year was 43 something. I also came third in my age group last year, sixth this year. :-( But still the food is still totally great there. Strawberries were so huge!

Bi-training

I did something unusual today. I ran from Hopkins Park but then before that I biked down to the park! It was only 2 miles. Then I ran 4.25 miles. And biked the 2 miles back. I was cold on the way back though since I was all sweaty from the run. It was a tough 2 miles back though.

Yesterday I biked for 45 minutes on the recumbent bike at the Y. I ended up going 16.5 miles too! I have to cross-train like crazy because of the bike ride I'm doing in a few weekends!

Tonight I'm also going for a NITRO (Northern Illinois Trail Runner's Organisation) seminar on endurance. I also joined them too. It was only $5 so I think it's worth it.

West Frankfort run

I ran from my other brother's house today. He lives in a bigger town but luckily, I ran in his city before so I have a few routes. But it happened again. I got the same cramp. Luckily, it came right before I ran back by my brother's house and I ran inside and sat down on the toilet. I again didn't go. Very weird. Once I got back outside, I felt fine and ran a total of 3.45 miles.

Later on that day, John and I went on a 9.6 miles bike ride around Rend Lake. That was fun! We both got to use our CamelBaks too. :-)
