Back to it

Well, I'm back up to 3.5 miles already. I even ran a 8:30 min/mi for the last .6 miles! I guess coming back after having a month and a half off really isn't that hard after all. Maybe I will make that marathon this year after all! I have until the end of February to decide as that's the deadline for registration.

RUNNING!

So it's been a month and 6 days since I ran the St. Jude Half Marathon. I haven't picked up my feet for a fast pace in quite a while.

Tonight that all changed.

I ran a mile. I could have ran more but I was running with my publisher's son. He decided that it was my mission to help him lose 20 pounds this year. So he's going to accomplish that by running with me. Last fall, he was rollerblading while I ran but then when it got colder and I was going for longer than he quit going with me. Plus, he said that blading wasn't really doing it for him; he would have to go faster to get his heart beating. He was hesistant about running in the first place since he has bad knees and ankles. But for now we're doing one mile. Next week, maybe 2, we'll see.

Anyway, luckily, I only live 1.6 miles from him one way so once I work my way back up and it gets warmer out, I can run to his place, run whatever milage with him and then run back home! I also still plan on running on my own and at the Y. Like I might do it on my own tomorrow! I missed it so badly.

I was nervous about the run, my knees are still bothering me a bit but I completed the run (while talking a lot to keep Joe's mind occupied) without any pain (it was in a very slow 10min pace). Good news is that I could have kept going, talking and all. That makes me very happy. Better news is that I won't be sore tomorrow since I only ran a mile! HA!

I'm back baby!
