It's been what now five days since fever have left my body. Four days since aches left my body. Two days since the congestion left my nasal cavities. I'm still hacking and coughing when I lay down (or after running) and snorting up gunk from the back of my throat. Yet on Monday and tonight, I ran.
Not exactly the smartest thing I could have done. I'd admit that. Monday I ran 1.5 miles. My schedule has me running 2 but I knew my body would not be able to take it. I barely made it 1.5! Tonight I ran again. I could only go one mile before my lungs hurt and there was a hard pit in my stomach. I had to stop. I felt so down over that. I walked a quarter mile and then ran another half mile to bring up my total to 1.5 miles again.
I was sore after Monday. I won't deny that. That could have something to do with my running ability or lackthereof today. And I wasn't easy with my running. Both times were at a 9 minute mile. I should have gone slower but everytime I step on that treadmill and I set my pace for a 10 minute mile, I forgot how good it feels to just run. I love running. I can't explain how it makes me feel.
I just hope I'll be in shape by April 21 for my 5k and then really ready for my 10k on May 28.
I STILL haven't decided if I'm going to go skiing this weekend or not. I can't decide, I can't decide, I can't decide. It's supposed to be 45 and sunny on Saturday. Good weather for skiing but also good weather for biking! *slams head* I don't know. Biking's cheaper but skiing I can only do for a few months out of the year.
